A few months ago we brought a breeding pair of Tennessee Fainting Goats to come live at Quicksilver Farm. Categorized as a threatened breed by the American Livestock Breed Conservancy, we wanted to do our part to continue this breed. We hope to have kids available for sale next year. Anyway, they hadn’t fainted. Today was warm and I wanted to make sure there was enough shade for them. I shook out a blanket to put over a stump and the fence to make a shelter, and WHUMP! Down she went. Luckily this does not harm them, as it occurs in the muscles and not in the central nervous system. Good thing, because I love my goats!
